From Powell’s website:

Historian Heather Mayer’s Beyond the Rebel Girl (Oregon State) is a study of the women associated with the Industrial Workers of the World in Oregon and Washington, from the time of the union’s founding in 1905 until 1924. Mayer’s new book deepens our understanding of how the IWW functioned and how the union supported women in their fight for birth control, sexual emancipation, and better labor conditions, all while facing persecution at the local, state, and federal levels.
