We are against hate which targets continually marginalized people, no matter if they are Asian, Asian-American, Pacific Islanders, Black, Indigenous, people of color, and LGBTQ+ identifying. We support movements for reform, protest, and equality. A collection of resources and organizations working toward these efforts, and those which offer support, can be found here.

We will continue to amplify marginalized voices, and welcome all, their ideas, their events, and their words. Our words here are not enough, but we wanted to say we support you and will continue to do so through our actions.

An additional list of support and relief funds can be found here.

BOOKLOVER’S BURLESQUE — the world’s sexiest literary salon– matches titillating, inspiring, and/or empowering book readings with burlesque performances all in one show. Professional readers, actors, and/or authors & writers read aloud a short literary excerpt, which is then followed by a burlesque performance inspired by the piece.

BOOKLOVER’S BURLESQUE debuted in April 2016, produced 4-5 times a year in Portland, Oregon, and visited Seattle, Washington twice in 2019. Our productions include open-theme genre shows as well as themed ones, including an annual Shakespeare edition, mystery/noir, erotica, “vile villains,” historical love letters/journals/diaries, poetry, etc. BOOKLOVER’S BURLESQUE strives to be sexy, body, & queer positive, feminist, and inclusive to ALL.
