Design Week Open House featuring the Illustrated Works of Nan Pollard

FreeCome and join us for our Design Week Open House! Along with the normal Outlet offerings, we will be featuring a HUGE archive of illustrated works from Kate’s grandma Nan Pollard from her 55 year career as a children’s book illustrator. Born in 1925, Nan Pollard knew she liked to draw from an early age. She won awards for her artwork in both junior high and high school, and went on to study at the Layton School of Art in Milwaukee.
She has built a prestigious career as an illustrator and was continually sought out by publishers for the quality of her work. She drew some of the best-loved children’s subjects, including Captain Kangaroo, Mickey Mouse, Lassie and Curious George. In addition to story books, Nan did coloring and activity books as well as paper doll books. She retired in 1999 and passed away in 2012.
We will have risograph prints and coloring sheets of her work and plenty of drawing supplies. Come on by, have a drink, draw, color and learn about Nan Pollard’s 55 year illustration career.
