Atticus Review announces HER ANIMAL INHERITANCE, Vol. 2, a video poem by Tai Woodville, Alissa Hattman, and Sara Jackson-Holman. This FREE show & screening will take place at The Waypost on Sunday, September 8, 2019, starting at 8PM. Siren and the Sea will be opening. Tai Woodville and Alissa Hattman will introduce the film.

HER ANIMAL INHERITANCE, Vol. 2, is a collaborative video poem by Tai Woodville, Alissa Hattman & Sara Jackson-Holman created during a three-day artist residency at the historic Sou’Wester lodge in Seaview, Washington. The filmette examines the burden of transgenerational pain, as well as the healing alchemy that can come from solidarity, support, and shared process.

Tai Woodville is a Los Angeles born, Portland-based writer, poet, singer-songwriter & conceptual artist. She attended & graduated from UCSB’s College of Creative Studies with a BA in literature with a creative writing emphasis. A Pushcart Prize nominee, her prize-winning poetry can be found at Visitant Lit. Woodville also writes Parallax: Exploring the Architecture of Reality, a popular philosophy blog. She is the author of one chapbook of poems, Pollen, and the co-author of a second collection, Her Animal Inheritance. She is currently preparing a conceptual electronic music project (@flightcall on Instagram) for an album release in March 2020. Follow her artistic comings & goings on Instagram @taiwoodville. Alissa Hattman’s work has appeared in The Rumpus, Gravel, Propeller, American Writers Review, Big Other, Atticus Review, mojo, Shirley Magazine, SUSAN, HER ANIMAL INHERITANCE, and elsewhere. In 2009, she received her MFA in Fiction at Pacific University and, in 2013, she completed a MA in English Literature from Portland State University. Sara Jackson-Holman is a singer-songwriter & poet based out of Los Angeles. She has released four studio albums, and her songs have been featured in numerous TV shows such as Grey’s Anatomy, Riverdale, Orange is the New Black, and more. Her music can be found on Spotify. She is also the co-author to a poetry collection, Her Animal Inheritance. Follow her on Instagram.

Cristina Cano is a writer, multi-instrumentalist, and performer dedicated to crafting rich melodic soundscapes, as well as engaging intimate and vulnerable experiences. Siren and the Sea embodies a world of seemingly underwater and other worldly symphonies highlighted by lush vocals, layers of rich synthesizers, bass, electronic drums, pedal steel and baritone/ guitar.
