More about Sage:

Sage Lilac is a trans poet and heavy metal vocalist based out of Portland, OR. She got her start in poetry just after high school by winning both the SpeakNOW Poetry Slam in 2012 and then the Rising Star Creative Writing Competition in 2013. Since then, she has lead many after school programs and in-school residencies through the Nature of Words literary center, shared the stage with renowned performance poet Buddy Wakefield, has had her poems arranged for performance by opera singers, been a PDX Grand Slam finalist and competed at IWPS in 2018. She is currently on the Slamlandia 2019 Poetry Team. Her poems can be found scattered among different magazines, local newspapers, gender-neutral bathroom stalls and her own DIY chapbooks.

Her most recent chapbook, Describe Your Dysphoria in Four Letters is available for purchase online at https://www.etsy.com/listing/670934358/describe-your-dysphoria-in-four-letters or in person after the show.

We will be at our venue, Tiny’s Coffee Northeast! This means our show is all-ages! Everyone is welcome. We do not censor our mic except for instances of hate-speech. Please also note that we start a little earlier then at previous venues.

Accessibility info: Tiny’s is on the 6 bus line, which is a frequent service line. It is a quarter mile from the the streetcar line and about a half mile away from the max. The building and stage is wheelchair accessible and most of the seating can be moved to create space for accessibility equipment. The venue serves food and coffee, so it is not scent-free.
