Portland Storytellers’ Guild: Wish You Were Here! Postcards From the Road

January 2, 2021 @ 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm

$10
Online, N/A, Portland, OR 97207

Stories are postcards from along our way. Discoveries, detours, the ordinary suddenly transformed, as we get lost in a new country, return home to find ourselves or stumble into the fog of someone’s cheap sci-fi movie. So many details squeezed between the compact margins of the postcard. For in these small souvenirs full of memory, it’s always in the details that we find how we got through. Wish you were here! Join storytellers Steven Henegar, John Wylder and Tony Zimbardi for the full story on Saturday, January 2 at 7:00 pm via Zoom in the comfort of your own home.  Click here for Tickets.  AND… Register Now, Watch Later  — Registrants will get an email the day after the performance and can watch the recording during the week following the show!

Mid-westerner Steven Henegar celebrates the wonderful variety of stories we use to share our lives. He calls up the everyday and the fantastic to discover feelings and experiences that connect us all. The twenty-five year veteran performer and workshop leader blends the easy conversation of his family’s storytelling with incisive imagery shaped by a decade in the theater as an actor, writer and director. Truth & Lies mined from a long life looking around. www.stevenhenegar.com

John Wylder is a retired renaissance man having worked as a banker, teacher, computer security professional, tour guide, author, and international sports judge. He and his wife of 47 years love to travel and have sent postcards home to friends from four continents and dozens of countries. www.wyldstories.com

A retired psychotherapist, Tony Zimbardi also studied under the legendary Stella Adler during her time in Los Angeles. He performed as a repertory member of the “Hothouse” improvisation company in Burbank, CA, and was an active member of the Los Angeles Storytellers salon. Tony retired from his practice and relocated to Portland in 2019 to be nearer family members. The proud father of two adopted sons, Tony is thrilled to be making his debut with the Portland Storytellers Guild!
