Prompt, a Community Writing Workshop

WHO: Write Around Portland runs community-building writing workshops: https://writearound.org/
WHAT: Prompt at Powell’s City of Books is a 10-week workshop by Write Around Portland designed to inspire the writing life. Based on the acclaimed Write Around Portland model, this dynamic workshop incorporates our favorite writing exercises, including freewriting; work with writing elements; strength-building feedback and early-draft revision. The workshop caps off with a community broadside.
WHEN: 10 Tuesdays, Sept 25th – Dec 4th (skip 11/27), from 6:30 to 8:30 PM.
WHERE: Powell’s City of Books: 1005 W Burnside, Portland, OR 97209.

COST: $300. Fee includes snacks and access to the “bowels of Powell’s.” (Accessing the “bowels of Powell’s” requires climbing a flight of 12 stairs). Payment plans are available. Proceeds go directly toward supporting Write Around Portland’s free community writing workshops held in partnership with hospitals, treatment centers, homeless shelters, prisons, low-income housing buildings, schools and other social service agencies.
