PSG Story Swap and Potluck – Open to the public
January 11, 2019 @ 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm
FreeThe Portland Storytellers’ Guild invites you to join us at the Multnomah Arts Center (Room 30 – parking available behind building) for a Story Swap and Potluck beginning at 6:30PM. This is a monthly event on the 2nd Friday of each month — from September through May. Open to the public, free of charge, and is for tellers and non-tellers alike.
The Story Swap is a great time to visit with others that love stories. Here you will hear stories from well experienced tellers and those telling for the very first time, and all of the stops along the way in between. Many have come just to hear the stories and over time decided they wanted to tell a story. We often hear that we have created a very safe place for people to take that step towards becoming a storyteller. Anyone can tell a 5-7 minute story (some evenings there isn’t time for everyone that wants to tell to do so some come in and sign up right away if you know you want to tell). Feedback is offered but only if requested. To create a place where all feel welcome we ask that stories not promote hatred or contain excessive foul language.
We begin with a potluck sharing of food, so bring a dish to contribute for this opening social time together. We ask that you be aware of potential food allergies; label dishes that contain common allergens. (Note that we do have some who have a life threatening allergy to citrus fruits; please refrain from bringing any citrus containing foods.) If you have questions, contact Eric Foxman 503-659-2715.
We hope to see you very soon.
