Slamlandia Presents: Clementine von Radics’ Book Release

Slamlandia is excited to announce we will be hosting the book release for Clementine von Radics’ newest collection of poetry, In a Dream You Saw a Way to Survive.

This house show will have an open mic that you can sign up to read in, as well as short spotlight features from local poets Nikki Burian, Julia Gaskill, & Bri Gowdy, and a feature from Clementine von Radics.

This show will be held at Pointy House (2930 SE Clay Street) on Monday, April 8th. Door opens & signups at 7:00pm, show starts at 7:30pm. Some snacks and drinks will be provided (on a donation basis) but feel free to bring your own!

***There will be a $5 required entry fee at the door***

Clementine von Radics is a poet, editor and essayist whose work centers around the queer femme experience and its relation to romance and the body, particularly the sick and/or disabled body. Their confessional, conversational work has achieved a wide appeal among both traditional and non-traditional poetry audiences. Collectively, they have sold over 100,000 books worldwide. As a slam poet, they have competed at the National Poetry Slam, and the Women of the World Poetry Slam, and performed on the finals stage of the Individual World Poetry Slam, ranking 12th in the world. Their poems from these and other events have been viewed over 1.5 million times on YouTube. Their poem “For Teenage Girls” has been featured on Huffington Post, Upworthy, Everyday Feminism, and has since been adapted into an illustrated book by Andrews McMeel Universal. Over the past three years Clementine has toured all 50 states and six countries, including performing with Sabrina Benaim on the first poetry tour ever sponsored by LiveNation. Clementine’s third collection, In A Dream You Saw A Way To Survive, will be released April 2, 2019.

Note of accessibility: The show will take place on the first floor of a house. The performance space is on hardwood floors. There are two steps leading up to the front door of the house. The bathroom is accessible on the first floor. There will be space to sit on the floor or stand, but chairs/couch will also be provided and given priority to those who need it.
