Submission Deadline: Frontera Magazine, Vol. 3 “Natural States”

FreeFrontera está abierta para recibir entregas hasta el 1 de febrero (tendremos una semana extra si nos avisas por email.) Frontera es una revista bilingüe, escrita en Inglés y Español, y queremos recordarte que esos son los únicos idiomas que se aceptan.
El tema del Vol. 3 es ESTADOS SILVESTRES, deja que la esencia del tema, en cualquiera manera, te inspire.
Frontera Magazine is currently open for submissions until February 1st (we observe a one week grace period if sent to our email). Frontera is an English-Spanish bilingual literary magazine, and we happily remind you that those are the only two languages we accept.
The theme of Vol. 3 is NATURAL STATES, so let the nature of the theme and whatever it means to you, inspire you.
Guías básicas // Basic guidelines
Ya lo sabes: Todas las entregas deben realizarse ultilizando fuente de 12 pt, en Times New Roman y con márgenes normales. Aceptamos entregas simultáneas pero por favor avisanos por email si la entrega ha sido aceptada en otra publicación. Por favor mandanos lo mejor que tengas; es muy importante. Además, mándanos algo original porque no aceptamos trabajo ya publicado.
This is not news: all submissions should be 12 pt font, in Times New Roman, and with normal 1” margins. Simultaneous submissions are welcome as long as you notify us in the email and if at a later date, your submission has been accepted elsewhere. Please send us your best work; we cannot stress this enough. Send us something original, as we do not consider previously published work.
Ficción y no ficción // Fiction & nonfiction
A causa de ser una publicación pequeña, hay menos espacio en nuestras páginas. Por eso, toda prosa de cualquier ficción o no ficción no puede exceder de 5.000 palabras. Tampoco aceptamos múltiples entregas de prosa al mismo tiempo.
Being a small magazine, there is less real estate in our pages, and all fiction and nonfiction submissions should be no longer than 5,000 words. We do not take multiple submissions of fiction and nonfiction at this time.
Poesía // Poetry
Aunque apreciamos un bolígrafo prolífico, solo aceptaremos hasta tres poemas en cada entrega. No es porque prefiramos un estilo sobre otro, solo es que la revista tiene espacio limitado podría resultar difícil almacenar más de tres páginas.
Though we appreciate a prolific pen, we will only accept up to three poems per submission cycle. This is not because we prefer another’s style over yours, it is merely that the magazine has a limited number of pages so accommodating more than three could prove trying.
Arte Visual // Visual Art
Todo el arte, incluyendo fotografía, pintura, dibujos y otras formas de arte plástico, debe ser escaneado y entregado en la carpeta ‘Artes visuales’ en nuestro sitio de ‘Submittable’. Por favor, incluye en la entrega el título, año, y cualquier otra información relevante que quieras compartir.
Se permiten hasta cinco imágenes por artista; sin embargo, si tienes una serie de un tamaño más grande que quieres publicar, puedes mandarnos un email a fronteralit@gmail.com.
All photography, paintings, drawings, and other visual art must be scanned and submitted via the Visual Arts folder on our ‘Submittable’ site. Please include title, year, and any other relevant information in the body of the submission.
Each artist is permitted up to five images; however, if you have a series to propose that exceeds this limitation, you may send a pitch to fronteralit@gmail.com.
Cómics // Comics
¡Nuevo! Ahora aceptamos cómics y arte secuencial. Se permiten cualquier número de páginas, pero lo más probable que publiquemos cómics que tienen menos que diez páginas. Mándanos el cómic en el formato de .tiff o .png.
New! We now accept comics and sequential art. We allow any number of pages, but most likely will publish comics that are less than ten pages. Send us your comic in the format of .tiff or .png.
Traducciones // Translations
Porque somos una revista bilingüe, buscamos obras originales en inglés o en español. Presentaremos una o dos obras cortas publicadas en ambos idiomas. Si te interesa, mandanos una ya traducida y la tendremos en cuenta.
Being a bilingual magazine, we are looking for original pieces in either English or Spanish. We will highlight one or two short dual-language pieces so send us both original language and a translated piece if you are interested in having it published side-by-side.
La última palabra // The final word
En este momento, no podemos pagar por entregas publicadas, pero daremos dos copias de la revista a los autores/artistas; trabajamos para poder cambiar esto en el futuro.
Reservamos primeros derechos de imprenta en Europa, los Estados Unidos y el Sombrero de America; los otros permanecen con los autores/artistas.
Trabajamos para contestar a las entregas rápidamente, entre un mes o dos lo máximo, con respeto a los autores/artistas. Mándanos tus mejores obras y algo que desafíe límites y fronteras.
Tenemos ganas de leer y ver tus obras.
Right now we cannot offer any payment for accepted submissions, but authors/artists featured in the magazine will be given two copies; we are working to expand this in the future.
We reserve first printing rights in Europe, The United States and America’s Hat; all other rights stay with the authors/artists.
We are working hard to have a quick turnaround time, at a month or two most, with respect to the authors/artists. Send us your best work and something that challenges boundaries and fronteras.
