with story tellers:

Lindsey E. Murphy

Lindsey E. Murphy is the award-winning entrepreneur, executive producer, creator and host behind YouTube’s most beloved kids science show, The Fab Lab With Crazy Aunt Lindsey, which takes everyday science concepts and turns them into fabulous DIY projects.

Before breaking out on her own in 2017, Lindsey spent more than 15 years in digital media, marketing, and business development, having started her career at MTV Networks and moving on to XBOX, Nike, Wieden+Kennedy, and many other iconic brands. As the CEO of Murph Media Co., Lindsey specializes in making content from the heart, digital consulting, audience + creative development.

Lindsey attended New York University where she majored in Chinese Language and Culture Studies and holds a dual Associates Degree from the County College of Morris in Liberal Arts, History and Literature and Media Studies. Born in Morristown, New Jersey, and professionally raised in NYC corporate hustle and bustle, Lindsey moved to Portland Oregon in 2013 with no job and exactly $.47 in her bank account. She will gladly tell you the rest of that story some other time.

Nishat Akhtar

Nishat Akhtar is an Associate Creative Director at Instrument and an adjunct professor of design at Portland State University with an ongoing illustration practice. She has created projects for Nike and Google and is committed to community growth through mentoring young designers and artists. Nishat has shared her artwork globally through exhibitions, lectures and workshops from New York to Japan. This is her first Front Porch Event!
Andrew Holguin
Andrew is a social worker, activist, group facilitator, father and husband. Born and raised in North and Northeast Portland his entire life, Andrew has been witness to the gentrification of his community which continues to fuel his work to this day. As a white passing bi-racial, muli-ethnic Latinx man, he has dedicated his career not only to serving youth but to focus on racial equity. As someone that has lost most of his child hood friends to addictions, incarceration, and even death, he believes that one of the most important factors to avoid these unfortunate outcomes is through authentic human connection.
