Virtual Slam and Open Mic feat. Kadara “Kas” Scott

June 14, 2020 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm

Free
Online, N/A, Portland, OR 97207

Join us for a virtual Slam and Open Mic!

We will have a feature from Kadara “Kas” Scott!

More about Kas:

Kadara “Kas” Scott is a spoken word poet, activist, educator and donations-based childcare provider. Kas performs poetry centered around her experiences with trauma, relationships and being Black in Kentucky. The largely white audiences allow for gentle education in a safe space through spoken word. Kas can often be found watching the OG Twilight Zone and eating a double layer cake she purchased for herself.

All money brought in from this event will go to the The Owensboro Black Expo.

For the Open Mic and the Slam, we will make a post on the day of the event for folks to sign up! All poems in the slam or the Open Mic should be 3 minutes or less! Black poets will be given priority in sign-ups.

This event will be held on Zoom. We will post a link 15 minutes before the event for folks to join. You do not need video or microphone capabilities to watch but you do need at least a microphone in order to read.

Since we are used to doing things analog, there may be some kinks to work out so be patient.
