Foreign Cinema Cookbook Party

On February 28th, from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM we’re throwing a party at Il Solito with the chef-owners of San Francisco’s famed Foreign Cinema, Gayle Pirie and John Clark. Chef Matt Sigler still draws a lot of influence from his time spent cooking at Foreign Cinema, and is reuniting with Gayle and John to celebrate and showcase dishes from their recent cookbook: The Foreign Cinema Cookbook, Recipes and Stories Under the Stars. The three chefs will be mingling with the crowd and the cookbook will be available for purchase. Tender Table is a storytelling platform for women, trans men, and nonbinary folks who are black, indigenous, or people of color. We seek out narratives about the sweet, savory, sour, and bitter relationships to food and its connections to identity, memory, and community.
