C. Lavender is a Brooklyn, New York–based multidisciplinary sound artist, sound healing practitioner, and educator whose work spans live performance, recording, installations, videos, compositions, and workshops. She seeks to create an immersive aural landscape for the listener, an experience which is intensely physical, emotional and ultimately cathartic as noted in a performance review from the Village Voice: “downright iconic, charged with meaning and transgression.” C. Lavender has performed, lectured, and hosted workshops at MoMA, the Guggenheim Museum, the Hirshhorn Museum, the Rubin Museum, the Brooklyn Botanic Garden, Fridman Gallery, and Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, among other venues. She studied Deep Listening with its founder Pauline Oliveros while volunteering at The Deep Listening Institute. In 2016 she created the full curriculum and was lead teacher for a ten-week/fifty-hour class for children called “All Ears” about the science of sound. C. Lavender received the “Florasonic” sound art commission from Experimental Sound Studio in Chicago, IL. She is a 2020 Pioneer Works musician-in-residence and a Harvestworks Technology Immersion Program Scholar. C. Lavender has albums and recordings featured on the labels Editions Mego, Ecstatic Peace!, RVNG Intl, Primitive Languages, and Hot Releases.

Chloe Alexandra Thompson (Beaver Lake Cree Nation), is a Canadian sound artist composing works of sonic minimalism that envelope listeners into a state of equilibrium and fill rooms with discrete frequencies. Her work is composed using audio programming software and acoustic instruments. Focused on live performance and spatial intervention, Thompson engineers multi-channel interplay of psychoacoustics, live-processed field recordings, and isolated frequencies to produce felt effects on the body. Fascinated by digital technology’s seemingly endless possibilities for sound experimentation, Thompson routinely collaborates with other artists to explore new avenues for acoustic and physical environments and experiences. Thompson is presently based in Brooklyn, New York.

Jamondria Harris is an interdisciplinary artist and composer living in Portland, OR. They use words, sounds, wires, instruments, textiles & what falls into their hands to engage with blackness, desire, spirit/source, decolonization, fairy tales, & body horror. Their sound art emerges from a deep-listening fluidity between rhythm & source, engendering sonic cartographies woven from samples, feedback, the electromagnetic field of bodies & rooms, and both digital and analog synthesizer soundscapes. Their book of poetry and art, quaerere, is available from Magic Helicopter Press and their second album, jovilabe, is available from Fallen Moon Recordings.
