HOCUS Reading: Hauntings

We are a community of writers dedicated to the liturgies of literature, the creeds of creation, the sacraments of the synonym. We prostrate ourselves at the temple of Times New Roman. HOCUS is an episodic, eclectic, and occasionally unhinged series of readings and gatherings. Our themed readings emphasize prose of all lengths (from prose poems to novel excerpts) with an emphasis on still-emerging writers. HOCUS Reading

Participatory reading series with a social aspect and an esoteric vibe. For each reading we take submissions on a theme. This reading’s theme is “Rites and Rituals.” Scheduled readers will be Meg Fancher, Lea Peace, Lyndal Cairns, and Darlene Zimbardi. The Hermetic Order of Clandestine Urban Scribes, or HOCUS, is a literary reading series with a tongue-in-cheek emphasis on the ritual aspects of writing.
