Workshop: Hot Off the Press: Traditional Printing and Food Connections with Daniela del Mar/Letra Chueca Press (3 weeks)

Group Size: 12 | Leader: Daniela Del Mar What do kitchens and print shops have in common? In this dynamic workshop, students will use the vehicle of letterpress printing to explore personal connections to food and food traditions. We will learn the fundamentals of analog design and the importance of book arts in a digital age, then print our own designs incorporating pressroom materials – lead type, wood type and ornaments- with personal experiences. Virtual Risograph Basics!

Welcome to our Risograph Basics course: a printing, collage, experimentation, and mark making extravaganza! Get to know Outlet and our RISO sisters (Barbara, Janet, Corita, and Tina) and learn the basics of this fun and unique print method with Kate Bingaman-Burt! This workshop is a great place to start if you’re new to riso, or if you’d like a refresher! Workshop: Tell Your Story! Risograph Printing and Zine Making with Kate Bingaman-Burt & Leland Vaughan (3 weeks)

Class Size: 15 | Leaders: Kate Bingaman-Burt & Leland Vaughan This workshop will focus on risograph printing and zine making, with an emphasis on using printmaking and books as vessels for your ideas and creative experiments. Moving Here As Love: Making A Collaborative Zine About Becoming Love

A Zine Workshop For You and Your Art Buddy About Becoming Love In this class we will work together to make a zine about how to become love. What *is* love? How would “becoming love change” the way we move about this planet? Love without condition, without judgement. Love beyond even the concept of love, moving inside and as this love. Come in and print in person with one of our knowledgable studio assistants! OPEN HOURS printing is a collaborative in-person way for you to print your risograph projects with us! You bring your files, your paper (or you can purchase from our selection here—we’ve got a ton of different papers), and your questions and chat with our staff to bring your print projects to life. You can be as hands-on or hands-off with the process during your appointment as you like. This summer we’re partnering with Alder Commons on after school camps that will take place rain or shine in their ample and dynamic outside spaces! Check out the offerings and dates for camp below.
