Join Lane Literary Guild and Eugene Public Library for a livestream of the Windfall Reading Series, a monthly gathering highlighting local and regional writers. This month, poets Susan Leslie Moore and Judith Montgomery will read and take questions online.
Susan Leslie Moore’s poetry has appeared widely, including in Best American Poetry 2020, The New York Times Magazine, New York Quarterly, and Poetry Northwest. She edited the online magazine Caffeine Destiny for 13 years, and is one of the editors of the anthology Alive At The Center: Contemporary Poems from the Pacific Northwest. A winner of a Juniper Prize in Poetry, her first full-length collection is That Place Where You Opened Your Hands. Moore lives in Portland and serves as Director of Programs for Writers at Literary Arts.
Judith H. Montgomery’s first collection, Passion, received the Oregon Book Award for poetry. Her other works include the books Red Jess and Litany for Wound and Bloom, and the chapbooks Pulse & Constellation and Mercy. Her poems have appeared widely, including in The Bellingham Review, Prairie Schooner, and Tahoma Literary Review. She has been awarded fellowships from Literary Arts and the Oregon Arts Commission; residencies at Playa, Hypatia-in-the-Woods, and Caldera; and prizes from the Bellingham Review, Persimmon Tree, and elsewhere. Montgomery “loves to read poems and figure out how other poets do what they do.”
