“If I take it back, if I grab the narrative in my hands and crumple it until it is a completely new shape, what would it look like?”

Portland art fanatics, prepare yourselves! Fused Creative, a woman operated art collective, is pleased to announce our upcoming April pop-up show, THE FEMININE ERA.

Society dictates what it means to be feminine. The feminine has been relegated to second class citizenry; it has been painted as weak, compliant, and as a pretty decoration for empty vessels. For centuries, the cultural narrative demands that femininity is defined by taking up as little space as possible, and to be palatable to all others but ourselves.

To put it plainly, WE REFUSE.

In the year of our ladies Andrea Ocasio-Cortez, Lindy West, Laverne Cox, Stormy Daniels, Letitia James, Ilhan Omar, Cardi B, and Ruth Bader Ginsburg, we can do better.

Fused Creative’s line-up of incredible multi-media talents are powerfully redefining what femininity means, what it looks like, and who it belongs to through comedy, music, poetry, visual art, and dance.

Fused Creative, founded in 2018 by Jessica Green and Meg Nanna, generates a platform for artistic experimentation, vulnerability, and unique integration of a variety mediums. Fused Creative is building a local Pacific Northwest community for artists, by artists. We cultivate a space where creatives grow through response to modern motifs and topical subject matter, collaborate with other local artists, and cultivate their singular visions into a communal expression of art and humanity. Fused Creative facilitates the showcasing of this eclectic curation of art and artists to a larger audience in an effort to spark greater critical thought and commentary.

Artists Include:
Jenna Vesper, D Martin Austin, Clifton Holznagel, Dominic Harris, Lizz Ehrenpreis, Renée Muzquiz, Tears in the Tar (Jay Flewelling, Dane Wilder, and Ethan Manthey), Forest Salazar, Jessica Tidd, Caitlin Nolan, Kayla Banks, Dan Luce & Tracy McFarland, Claudia F. Saleeby Savage & John C. Savage, Jessica Green, and Meg Nanna.
