Build Your Own Publicity Plan

September 15, 2021 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm

$195
Online, N/A, Portland, OR 97207

Many authors shy away from self-promotion, but a strong public persona and publicity plan is one of the best investments you can make in your forthcoming book. This class takes the guesswork out of promotion and guides you to develop a sustainable plan, wherever you are in the publication process. We’ll cover timelines, target markets, tools, and industry expectations, as well as how to collaborate with your press, and when (or whether) to hire an outside publicist.

Access Program
We want our writing classes to be accessible to everyone, regardless of income and background. We understand that our tuition structure can present obstacles for some people. Our Access Program offers writing class registrations at a reduced rate. The access program for writing classes covers 60% of the class tuition. Most writing classses have at least one access spot available. Contact Susan Moore at susan@literary-arts.org if you would like to take a writing class at the Access Rate.
September 15-October 6, 2021
Wednesdays 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. (4 sessions)
As a high school English teacher, Heather turned classrooms into communities. Now she pours her passion for connection into business strategy, processes, communication, and content. For the past seven years, as Mind the Bird Media, she has worked with authors, presses, and nonprofit organizations to advocate for independent literary titles and produce community events across the country. She holds an MFA from Oregon State University and believes that good publicity requires a touch of poetry.
