DREAMs Deferred Live

FreeStories have power. We believe the most important stories often come from the immigrant community. Despite the historic Supreme Court ruling in June protecting DACA recipients, some groups continue to challenge the rights of undocumented immigrants. Now is the time to listen to the stories of individuals who have grown up undocumented in the United States.
In partnership with the City of Beaverton, The Immigrant Story presents “DREAMs Deferred Live,” a two day event featuring one night of soulful music and another night of moving storytelling by immigrants in our community. To kick off this week long celebration, we invite you to hear five compelling stories told — and lived — by members of our community who grew up with American values without feeling valued by America.
This livestreamed event will celebrate our storytellers as well as the broader Welcoming Week, which is designed to bring the community together, raise awareness, and create a welcoming society for all.
