Winner of the 2017 Restless Books Prize for New Immigrant Writing, Grace Talusan’s memoir, The Body Papers (Restless), explores the fraught contours of her life as a Filipino immigrant and survivor of cancer and sexual abuse. Talusan delves into the various bodies, both physical and metaphorical, that comprise her life as a woman, an immigrant, a writer, a survivor, a daughter, and a wife. Talusan will be joined in conversation by Alex Marzano-Lesnevich, author of The Fact of a Body.
