In this five week collaboration we will explore the histories and variations of this story-telling artform, while using what we discover as direct inspiration for our own versions. Historically, artists and scribes would create their own pigments, hides and tablets to paint upon. We will not be doing that. But we will be conjuring that connection to what we’re creating, and what it means to take your time.
Writers and artists of all genre and skill levels are welcome in this space. There will be no expectations to be a proficient illustrator, hand writer, or swift maker. We may even conjure artist parts of ourselves that we never knew existed. We’ll be making together, real time (via zoom of course) and will have ample time to ask questions and collaborate, which will naturally inspire the stories you want to tell and show, in whatever ways you want to tell them.
There is a small supplies list that should be attainable for $20 or under (which has been reflected in the collaboration cost) that will be sent before this begins.
