FreeJoin us Saturday, January 12 at 7 pm for a night of poetry with Kristin Berger, Carey Taylor, and Melissa Reeser Poulin.
Kristin Berger is the author of three poetry collections: Echolocation (Cirque Press, 2018), How Light Reaches Us (Aldrich Press, 2016), and a chapbook, For the Willing (Finishing Line Press, 2008). Her long prose-poem, Changing Woman & Changing Man: A High Desert Myth, was a finalist for the 2016 Newfound Prose Prize. Recent work has appeared in Four Chambers Press, The Inflectionist Review, Light: Journal of Photography and Poetry, Mockinghart Review and Santa Ana River Review. Kristin lives in Portland, Oregon, with her family, where she hosts a summer poetry reading series at her neighborhood farmers market. More at www.kristinberger.me.
Carey Taylor is the author of The Lure of Impermanence (Cirque Press 2018). Her poetry has appeared in regional, national and international publications and in 2015 her poem “The White Album Summer” was nominated for a Pushcart Prize. Born in Bandon, Oregon, she has spent her entire life at the western edges of Oregon and Washington. She has a Master of Arts Degree from Pacific Lutheran University in School Counseling and a Bachelor’s degree from Linfield College. She can be found online at https://careyleetaylor.com.
Melissa Reeser Poulin is a poet and writer. A graduate of Seattle Pacific University’s MFA program, she was the winner of the 2016 Janet B. McCabe Poetry Prize. She is the editor, along with Jill McKenna, of Winged: New Writing on Bees (Poulin Publishing, 2014), an anthology on the relationship between humans and honeybees, benefitting pollinator conservation. She was formerly a teacher of creative writing and managing editor of Boneshaker: A Bicycling Almanac, the thinking person’s literary bicycle-themed periodical. Her most recent poems, essays, and articles appear in Relief Journal, Red Tricycle, Ruminate Magazine, Coffee + Crumbs, Hip Mama, and In Good Tilth.
