Writers, escape the solitude of your desk. Readers, come hear great fresh work. Here is an opportunity to share or listen to one page of work in progress from talented Portland writers.Come with a single page of work and sign up to read – or come to listen and prepare to be inspired!

October’s One Page Wednesday is hosted by Chelsea Biondolillo. October’s featured readers are Delphine Bedient and Sophia Shalmiyev.

The reading begins at 7:00. Doors open around 6:30 p.m.

Potential readers can sign up to read and after the list is full, they can add their name to the fishbowl and Natalie will draw as many additional names to read as we have time for before 8:30 p.m.
One Page = one page, one side, typed double-spaced, 12 point font ( a standard manuscript page).

Chelsea Biondolillo is the author of The Skinned Bird: Essays and two prose chapbooks, Ologies and #Lovesong. She is a 2019 Oregon Literary fellow in nonfiction and holds a BFA in photography from the Pacific NW College of Art and an MFA in creative writing and environmental studies from the University of Wyoming. Her essays have been collected in Best American Science and Nature Writing,Waveform: Twenty-first Century Essays by Women, How We Speak to One Another: an Essay Daily Reader, and others. Delphine Bedient writes poems, designs clothing, and runs Quotidian Press. Two collections of her work, Down and Out on a Yacht and The Last Time my Sadness was Convenient are available from Two Plum Press.

Sophia Shalmiyev emigrated from Leningrad to NYC in 1990. She is an MFA graduate of Portland State University with a second master’s degree in creative arts therapy from the School of Visual Arts.
