Portland Storytellers’ Guild: LOVE?

John Wylder is a retired renaissance man having worked for the last 40 years as a banker, teacher, computer security professional, tour guide, author, and international sports judge. He is now telling stories and you can be certain they are true if he raises his right hand; if he raises his left hand, you are on your own.
He lives in Lake Oswego, Oregon with the love of his life and their two cats.
Anne Penfound enjoys presenting unique interpretations of original stories and multicultural tales to audiences age 5 to 105 with her quirky British humor and effervescent style. She credits fellow storyteller Will Hornyak for introducing her to the joy of oral storytelling in 1995 which resulted in an ongoing journey of delightful discovery.

Janet Liu grew up in Taiwan and immigrated to America with her family when she was a child. She has lived with perspectives from two different cultures. She wants to share her personal stories, especially her Chinese-American stories; to help nurture understanding of the Chinese culture. She is retired and enjoys playing the piano, storytelling, and volunteering in her community. She is the fortunate mother of a beautiful young woman.
Will Hornyak From Irish myths and Russian fairytales to Oregon Tall tales, Mexican fables and beyond, Will Hornyak weaves a wide web of oral traditions into engaging performances, workshops and keynotes. He teaches storytelling in professional communication at Clark College and performs throughout the United States. He has been a featured performer at the National Storytelling Festival in Jonesborough, Tennessee and at numerous regional festivals.
A strong advocate for storytelling as a change agent in personal and collective life, Will works with the Portland non-profit organizations “Open Hearts, Open Minds” to bring storytelling, theatre and dialogue to Oregon’s incarcerated populations. He has assisted many corporate and non-profit organization in developing and telling the stories that reflect their values, mission and vision.
