Portland Storytellers’ Guild: Step Into Storytelling 102 – Virtual Workshop (Part 2)

January 23, 2021 @ 10:00 am - 12:00 pm

$10
Online, N/A, Portland, OR 97207

Presenters: Barbara Fankhauser and Ken Iverson

Step Into Storytelling 102 will introduce you to a basic need and solution in storytelling: finding the stories YOU want to tell.   A fun, hands-on, two-hour session that will provide you with tools guaranteed to help you to uncover distant memories just waiting to be polished into story gold. And as helpful as these methods are for digging up personal stories from your life or those of your family members, they also apply to stories that catch your eye — or ear —  from the bigger world.

Saturday, January 23 from 10:00 am to noon.  Attend virtually via Zoom. Click Here to Register.  Registration is just $10 per log-in.

Prior to the workshop, each registered attendee will receive an email with the log-in link and the workshop handout.

This workshop is partially underwritten by the Guild’s Steinberg Restricted Fund.

(This is a quasi-continuation of a workshop held in October 2020. Separate registration required as it is not required to attend both sessions.)

Barbara’s stories come from her life, her imagination, the richness of her Celtic and Norse roots. She believes that, at the heart of it, the stories of one are the stories of all.  The Guild is lucky to have Barbara as an annual performer for the Guild; she is our second longest active member and has served on the Board, most recently as President.

Ken has always known stories are healing. They enable us to connect on deep levels, entering through doorways such as laughter, or tears, or quiet self reflection. The more connected we are to our stories the more we can share. This workshop aims to enhance that connection.  Ken was a founding member of the Portland Storytellers Guild almost 35 years ago and has served in various positions on the Board as well as being an annual performer in Guild performances.
