Shay Alexi is a writer and performer based out of Atlanta, GA. They are the author of Diary of a Ghost Girl (Glass Poetry Press), a six part seance exploring the intersections of healing, resurrection, and the mythology of girlhood. They placed first in the nation with their slam teams at the 2018 National Poetry Slam group piece finals and the 2018 Feminine Empowerment Movement slam (FEMS). Shay’s poems have amassed over online 150,000 views, and have been featured by The Rumpus, Tinderbox Poetry, Freezeray, and Alternating Current, amongst others. We will be at our new venue, Tiny’s Coffee Northeast! This means our show is all-ages! Everyone is welcome. We do not censor our mic except for instances of hate-speech. Please also note that we start a little earlier then at previous venues.
Accessibility info: Tiny’s is on the 6 bus line, which is a frequent service line. It is a quarter mile from the the streetcar line and about a half mile away from the max. The building and stage is wheelchair accessible and most of the seating can be moved to create space for accessibility equipment. The venue serves food and coffee, so it is not scent-free.
