Maureen Aitken is the recipient of the Nilsen Prize. Her collection of stories, The Patron Saint of Lost Girls, was published in 2018. She has also won the Minnesota State Arts Board’s Artist Initiative Grant, the Loft Mentor Award, an award in Ireland’s Fish Short Story Prize, and a grant from the SASE/Jerome Foundation. Stories in her collection have earned two Pushcart Prize nominations and have been published in journals such as Prairie Schooner, The Journal, Night Train, Puerto del Sol and the international anthology, The Bering Strait and Other Stories. She teaches writing at the University of Minnesota, where she received her MFA degree.

Jeffrey Condran is the author of the story collection, A Fingerprint Repeated (Press 53). His debut novel, Prague Summer (Counterpoint), received a 2015 Independent Publisher Book Award Silver Medal. Southeast Missouri State University Press will publish his story collection Claire, Wading into the Danube By Night in 2020. His fiction has appeared in journals such as The Kenyon Review, The Missouri Review, and Epoch, and has been awarded the The Missouri Review’s 2010 William Peden Prize and Pushcart Prize nominations. He is an Assistant Professor of Creative Writing at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock and co-founder/publisher of the independent literary press, Braddock Avenue Books.

Brad Aaron Modlin is the author of Everyone at This Party Has Two Names, which won the Cowles Poetry Prize — and the author of Surviving in Drought, a small collection of stories that won The Cupboard’s annual contest. His nonfiction has appeared in River Teeth, Florida Review, Fourth Genre, DIAGRAM, and others.

Rainie Oet is the author of With Porcupine, winner of the 2015 Ruby Irene Prize from Arcadia Press, and Inside Ball Lightning, forthcoming in 2020 from Southeast Missouri State University Press. You can find their work in The Adroit Journal, Bennington Review, Colorado Review, Hayden’s Ferry Review, jubilat, Nashville Review, The Offing, Poetry Review, Radar Poetry, RHINO Poetry, Sycamore Review, and Waxwing, among other publications (some under the name Jacob Oet). They are an MFA candidate in Poetry at Syracuse University, where they were awarded the Shirley Jackson Prize in Fiction. rainieoet.com
