FreeOur LitCrawl PDX event features Airstream Poetry Festival Fellowship Finalists Lois Ruskai Melina, Alice Hall, Shenan Hahn, James Gapinski, Delphine Bedient, and Bill Carty. This reading is free and open to the public. It will start at 8pm sharp.

Lois Ruskai Melina is a rower and fan of the Portland Thorns. Her essay, “The Grammar of Untold Stories,” is listed as a Notable work in Best American Essays 2018. She participates in the Corporeal Writing community founded by Lidia Yuknavitch as well as The Guttery. Follow her at : https://loismelina.wordpress.com
Shenan Hahn is a Portland-based, Virginia-born writer and artist. She is a graduate of Johns Hopkins University’s MA in Writing program, and her first book of poetry, In the Wake, was published in 2014. She has served editorially for VoiceCatcher, Outside In Literary and Travel Magazine, and Prompt & Circumstance.
Delphine Bedient writes poems, designs clothing, and runs the publishing imprint Quotidian Press. A book of her work, entitled Down and Out on a Yacht, is available from Two Plum Press and she will have a new book forthcoming from them this fall.
Bill Carty is the author of Huge Cloudy (forthcoming in 2019 from Octopus Books) and the chapbook Refugium. He is Senior Editor at Poetry Northwest and teaches at Hugo House, the UW Robinson Center for Young Scholars, and Edmonds Community College.
James R. Gapinski is the author of the novella Edge of the Known Bus Line (Etchings Press, 2018) and the flash collection Messiah Tortoise (Red Bird Chapbooks, 2018). He is managing editor of The Conium Review and an instructional specialist at Chemeketa Community College.
Alice Hall is a poet and educator based in Portland, Oregon. Their work investigating the intersections of queerness, violence, and music is published or forthcoming from Flypaper Magazine, The Cardiff Review, DIAGRAM, and elsewhere. They teach writing and poetry at Portland State University and Portland Community College.
