Telltale Presents: I Won’t Wait.
August 26, 2021 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm
FreeHey, champ!
Thanks for checking out Telltale. We are a monthly curated storytelling event for people that like to get vulnerable and take no shit. We are keen on connection, laughter, heartbreak, poignant moments, and community building. We are in our fifth season now, which is wild.
After a number of zoom shows…. WE ARE BACK, PAL! With an all vaccinated staff, we will be doing a series of summer shows outside of our old venue, Chapel Theatre. I said we’d do these shows until things stopped making me mad…. and well…. apparently there’s an endless series of things to be angry at in this country.
At Telltale, you can expect about 7-10 performers sharing something with you, in the way that feels right to them–so there will be a mix of comedy, stories, music, essays, and more. Your evening will likely include honesty, swear words, enthusiasm, resistance, dark humor, connection….a
Also–there will be a very good raffle.
This month’s theme is “I Won’t Wait.” Because i don’t like waiting at all. When I get a thought in my head, I can’t shake it. Maybe you have trouble waiting too. Performers will use that theme in their story in some way, or will at least be inspired by it somehow.
Location: The Chapel Annex, an outdoor portion of Chapel Theatre (4107 SE Harrison, Milwaukie.)
Date: August 26th.
Doors: 6:30.
Showtime: 7pm-9pm.
Tickets: Available at www.telltalepdx
Capitalism is garbage and we want you there regardless of money. The money from the tickets will be split between paying for renting the venue and paying the performers.
If you are unable to make it to the show in person, we will also be live-streaming it, so you can still participate from New York or Alaska or your bed here in town. Buy a regular ticket and we will send out a zoom link to everyone!
Raffle Money will go towards keeping the show alive–buying merch, buying raffle prizes from local companies, paying for the website, etc.
The space: Telltale has done all our in-person shows at The Chapel Theatre. These summer shows will take place outside the venue in their annex space next door. Folks will be asked to social distance/mask up/be goddamn responsible/
Also, we have no room for any oppressive garbage. So there’s that.
I think that covers it. I’ll see you there. I think you’re very cool and the event will be better with you there. I miss your damn face.
