Hey, champ! Thanks for checking out Telltale. This is a monthly curated storytelling event for people that like to get vulnerable and take no shit. We are into genuine connection, laughter, heartbreak, poignant moments, and community building. The shows this year so far are already ridiculously good. Come see what’s next!

At Telltale, you can expect 8-10 performers sharing something with you, in the way that feels right to them–so there will be a mix of comedy, stories, music, essays, and more. Your evening will likely include honesty, swear words, enthusiasm, resistance, alcohol if that floats your boat, excellent pizza, dark humor, and often a few raffle prizes. You might make a new friend. You know how hard it is to make new friends as an adult!?

All that, and it’s only $5 too! (but nobody is turned away for lack of funds.)

We are specifically focused on stories from people that can get vulnerable but also take no shit, fierce humans that know how to fight the good fight but also like naps and staying home most nights. We are currently booked up through April, so if you want in, sign up sooner than later for a spring/summer date.

This month’s theme is “Turn It Up.” It’s almost summer…..we are all getting pumped. I want stories of turning the music up and getting your adventure on.

Performers will use that theme in their story in some way, or will hopefully at least be inspired by it somehow.

Shows are located at:
Chapel Theater
4107 SE Harrison
Milwaukie, Oregon (not Portland! please note!)

Show is $5, and we accept cash and card for admission as well as for the very cute merch you should totally buy and bring home. Tickets are available at the door–not online in advance.

Doors at 7:30. Really.
The show is at 8, usually over by 10/10:15 or so.

The event is all ages, but we make no guarantees about the content of stories, so you can decide whether it’s a good fit for your kiddo or not.

Event is seated (folding chairs without arms) and there are a few other seating options if you get there early. There will be an intermission, and if you’re running late, please just come anyway. It won’t disrupt things for your pop in after we’re already started. There’s beverages upstairs (alcoholic and non-alcoholic) and a pizza restaurant (vegan/vegetarian) in the basement, and they take cash and cards. There are a bunch of gender neutral bathrooms downstairs, and one wheelchair accessible gender neutral bathroom on the main floor.

Also, we have no room for any oppressive garbage. So there’s that.

I think that covers it. I’ll see you there. I think you’re very cool and the event will be better with you there.
