On Saturday, October 19th, we’ll have a feature from Julia Gaskill and a long set poetry open mic!
OUR FEATURE: Julia Gaskill
Julia Gaskill (she/her) is a professional daydreamer hailing from Portland, Oregon. When not running the Slamlandia mic, she can be found exploring the Pacific Northwest or walking your dog. She has competed multiple times on national stages with her poems, and she was the Portland Poetry Slam rep at the Women of the World Poetry Slam in 2018 Dallas, TX. Her work has been featured on FreezeRay Poetry, Ink&Nebula, Rising Phoenix Review, Voicemail Poems, SlamFind, and Write About Now, and she was the featured artist in the fall issue of the Knight’s Library Magazine. Her poem ‘i will not beg for scraps’ was nominated for Best of the Net 2015. It goes without saying that she loves Muppets more than you. Find Julia at @geekgirlgrownup

Sign-ups start at 5:30, show starts at 6PM. On first and third Saturdays each performer in the open mic gets 10 minutes, there are only 8 slots available and the list order is randomized.
