WRITING & THE BODY w/ Lidia Yuknavitch and Jen Pastiloff: August 11-14, 2022
August 11, 2022 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm
$995Jennifer Pastiloff and Lidia Yuknavitch were running their infamous workshop four times a year before the pandemic hit. Covid-19 led to the cancellation of three of these in 2021…Lucky for us, we’re back! Jen & Lidia are both renowned in their fields in their own right, and both of them are known for their inventive, non-traditional methods. Together they lead you to your most creative place by tapping into your body first, and then picking up the pen. But don’t worry! You do not have to be a published or experienced writer or yogi—we are looking for people who have heart. You have a desire to write? You have a body? Then this weekend is for you.
Check out all the details below, and please read the COVID note carefully!

COVID-19 NOTE:
Due to continued concerns about the spread of Covid-19 and its variants, attendance for this collaborative lab will be limited when compared to our packed rooms of the past. Proof of vaccination will be required in advance; you will be contacted by our Navigator, Daniel, in order to send him a photo/scan of your vaccination documentation. Attendees must be two weeks removed from their final vaccination as of no later than July 28th in order to attend. We will also be requiring KN95 masks.
In addition, because of returning concerns of rising cases, to attend this lab, you must also include proof of a negative PCR Test taken within 72 hours of August 11th, or a Rapid Antigen test taken the morning of August 11th, our first day face-to-face. When presenting the proof of a negative test please provide the confirming negative test report you received from your provider. If you have taken an at home Rapid Antigen Test, please take a photo of the results on a sheet of paper with your name and the date (8/11/22) written on it.
We apologize to anyone this excludes who has not yet been able to receive the vaccine (or has a health condition that precludes them from getting vaccinated), however we have collectively decided that requiring proof of vaccination is the safest way for us to move forward.
And though we are starting to re-open, for those leery of travel, we will continue to host plenty of online offerings.
The Corporeal Center houses all of Corporeal Writing’s Face2Face workshops, readings, and open community hours, currently being rescheduled. We are located in a beautiful historic building in downtown Portland. We are on bus lines, close to the Max line that goes to the airport as well as the Amtrak station. We are within walking distance to many hotels, some of our favorites being The Society Hotel ($), Embassy Suites ($$), Hotel Monaco ($$) and The Nines ($$$). With a bar, delicious burger joint, fresh salad bar in our building, a food truck lot out the front door, and Pine Street Market only a 3 block walk, food options abound.
