Writing Towards Radical Self Love

June 26, 2021 @ 10:00 am - 1:00 pm

$145
Online, N/A, Portland, OR 97207

“Liberation is the opportunity for every human, no matter their body, to have unobstructed access to their highest self; for every human to live in radical self love.” – Sonya Renee Taylor

Radical self love is a liberation movement led by Sonya Renee Taylor, author of The Body is Not an Apology. It is through radical self love that we deconstruct and unlearn forces that keep us from our highest selves. In the process we relearn our innate belonging and swell with the wave of change towards a more just and loving world. This generative weekend workshop is designed to explore the ladder of hierarchy within and take steps to move through barriers towards more self love and acceptance. We will get curious about limiting beliefs in order to foster gratitude and compassion for the parts of ourselves we hide away and ignore. We will write in various genres to crystalize what we imagine for ourselves in times of change and emergence. We will open to blank pages with vulnerability and honesty. Using multimedia texts and dynamic pre-writing activities, writers will craft a variety of healing pieces in this supportive and inclusive space.

Access Program
We want our writing classes to be accessible to everyone, regardless of income and background. We understand that our tuition structure can present obstacles for some people. Our Access Program offers writing class registrations at a reduced rate. The access program for writing classes covers 60% of the class tuition. Most writing classses have at least one access spot available. Contact Susan Moore at susan@literary-arts.org if you would like to take a writing class at the Access Rate.
