HOCUS is currently accepting fiction, poetry, and creative non-fiction on the theme of Enchantments. Submissions should total no more than 2000 words. You are welcome to interpret the theme however you like, but keep in mind that HOCUS prefers work in the literary genre. Deadline is March 7th at midnight. Reading will take place via Zoom on March 31st at 7:00 p.m.
In this four-part zine workshop meets peer support group, we will gather with the intention to cultivate both community and creative consciousness around the complex presence that smartphones have in our lives. Each meeting will include space for sharing, followed by conversation to develop ideas for a cumulative collaborative Tech Support zine. The zine may include drawings, writings, poems, prompts, experiments, photos, etc which reflect the unique relationships and experiences that we have with our phones. FLASH! In The Pan is a series of 10-day long creative writing workshops taught by jayy dodd with prompts, lessons, & guest talks. The second session will feature a guest talk from visiting writer Casey Rocheteau. This series of workshops is for Queer/Trans* Black, Indigenous Writers / of Color. Each session has 20 seats max. Tin House Workshop recognizes that the ongoing pandemic makes traveling and timelines more difficult than ever. We’re committed to working with each resident to make their visit as comfortable and safe as possible.
