Oregon Literary Fellowship Application Deadline
Online N/A, Portland, OR, United StatesApply online for 2023 Oregon Literary Fellowships. Deadline to apply is Friday, August 5, 2022. Literary Arts will award 12 fellowships in the amount of $3,500. One of these fellowships is specifically for a writer of color. Three of these fellowships are funded by the Oregon Arts Commission. Applicants submit an application form, any addendums for specifically named fellowships, and a writing sample, as outlined in the guidelines. Literary Arts will also award two Career fellowships of $10,000 each. One of the career fellowships is specifically for a writer of color
Poetry Reading and Open Mic on Zoom
Online N/A, Portland, OR, United StatesOpen Mic and Poetry Reading event on Zoom. Co-sponsored by the Milwaukie Poetry Series and St. John the Evangelist Episcopal Church. Featured Readers are the Ashland Poets Group: Steve Dieffenbacher, Amy Miller, Patty Wixon, and Vince Wixon. They will be reading from their own work or their favorite poets for about 45 minutes. The Open Mic will follow their reading. Email Tom Hogan at tomhogan2@comcast.net (link sends e-mail) to register. You will receive a zoom link prior to the event. Plan to read 1 or 2 poems depending on the number of participants and length of the poems. If time permits additional poems will be allowed.
