Join us for a reading by Renée Roman Nose from Sweet Grass Talking, a book of poetry focusing on historical events from a Native perspective. Renée Ametané ‘e Roman Nose is an enrolled member of the Cheyenne and Arapaho Tribes of Oklahoma. Renée is an professional performer with many years of experience on stage and in front of the camera. Renée is a mother, poet, actress, comedian, community activist, lecturer, and an anthropologist.
Author Justin Gardiner will be reading from his latest book Beneath the Shadow at the Rose City Book Pub with special guest, nonfiction writer Anna Clark, on March 30th at 6:00 pm. Beneath the Shadow is centered on journal excerpts by eight famous explorers, which Gardiner uses as touchstones for modern day experiences of harsh seas, chance encounters, rugged terrain, and unspeakable beauty.
