The Cascade Booksellers Association (CBA), of which Powell's is a member, presents an educational event about building a book collection. This free seminar for beginning and intermediate collectors offers ideas and inspiration for people who want to turn their passion for books into a lifelong hobby. CBA members will share topics including: what to collect; archival book care and repair; local and online resources; and tips on valuing your collection. Attendees may take away a resource-rich copy of the presentation and a free ticket to the Rose City Book & Paper Fair (June 14-15).

Save Your Books and Save Civilization. Scott Brown of Downtown Brown Books and Sophia S.W. Bogle of Save Your Books will give some practical advice about starting and building a book collection and helping your books with archival book repairs. Your books want you to come to this talk and you can even bring them along for Repair and Monetary Valuation. Sophia will be available to sign copies of the newly released: Book Restoration Unveiled, which will be for sale at the talk.
