What is Love? Writing Queer Love Stories

In this workshop, we’ll discuss the craft components that make a compelling, contemporary, queer love story, examine excerpts from examples, and do a few writing exercises. We’ll deconstruct the love stories that move us and inform our lives, in an attempt to open up more expansive ways for our stories to twist, turn, and transform. We’ll talk about character development, narrative arc, form, perspective, and the kinds of love that don’t get enough attention. Nine-Month Memoir Intensive

This class begins in September, with the goal of finishing a complete draft of a memoir by June. Participants do not need to be published writers; however, they should have some experience with elements of memoir, including character, setting, dialogue and scene, and have a clear project in mind that they will devote nine months to.
