Nova Productions in collaboration with Mighty Mike McGee brings you: STAGE PRESENTS: HOSTING AND PERFORMANCE WORKSHOP TARGET To break the spell and fears of stage presence for those curious about developing an on stage persona with a specific focus on organizing, emceeing and hosting events. SCHEDULE 30 minutes: We will discuss our personal stage experiences and an assess where public speaking, professional stage presence and emcee skills have been beneficial in everyday life. 45 minutes: We will walk through a variety of performative exercises and microphone practices with a focus on banter and comfort. Comedy vs. Tragedy is a variety competition show in Portland, Oregon. NovaPDX has produced the show since September 2017. 3 Poets, 3 Musicians and 3 Comedians vie for audience applause and a spot in the final ‘money’ round of the show. In the final round the audience decides whether a poet, a musician or a comedian wins the show. All finalists walk away with cash prizes, but the winner gets 1 hour of recording time with Shady Pines Media and gets to come back to the show and be a feature performer.
