AWP 2019 // Burning Deck Exhibit and Tribute to the Waldrops

Pacific Northwest College of Art (PNCA) 511 Northwest Broadway St, Portland, OR, United States

A display of Burning Deck publications from the past 60 years, including rare letterpress editions and magazines, along with a casual reading celebration, with many collaborators, friends, and former students of the Waldrops reading from favorite Burning Deck or Waldrop books. Featuring Alejandro de Acosta, Rae Armantrout, Kristin P. Bradshaw, Lee Ann Brown, Matthew Cooperman, Danielle Dutton, E. Tracy Grinnell, Aaron Kunin, Sawako Nakayasu, Jena Osman, Lisa Pearson, Sarah Riggs, Martin Riker, Cole Swensen, Lynn Xu, Magdalena Zurawski, and others. Exhibit open from 6 to 9pm, readings begin at 6:30 and 8:00. Presented by Wave Books and PNCA's Low-Residency MFA in Creative Writing.

AWP 2019 // Wave Books at the IPRC

Come out to one of Portland's coolest literary spaces, the Independent Publishing Resource Center, and help us make an edition and learn how to sew a simple booklet. Then, in the evening, join us for a celebratory reading by Wave poets. Readers will include: Aaron Kunin, Danielle Dutton, Dorothea Lasky, Joshua Beckman, Magdalena Zurawski, Michael Earl Craig, Prageeta Sharma, Rachel Zucker, Rodney Koeneke, Richard Meier, Tyehimba Jess, Matthew Zapruder, John Beer, Alejandro de Acosta, and Dara Wier. The book-sewing will go from 2–5PM; the reading will go from 5–11PM.
