He has been moderator for spoken word events at Finnish-American Folk Festivals in Naselle, Washington and Finn Fest USA events nationally. In the fall of 2017, Gary led a Nature Conservancy poetry-in-place presentation in a 240 acre preserve in Onota, Michigan.
