In this six-week workshop, we'll take a deep dive into the work of A.R. Ammons, one of America's most inventive and prolific poets. From short poems to book-length poems and everything in between, Ammons engages the human predicament with a rare mixture of irreverent humor and philosophical depth. We'll pay special attention to the influence of Taoist thought on Ammons' poetics. But our main concern will be with how the poems are made and how they might open new possibilities for our own work.
