Lesbian Lit Book Group – Dec

Another Read Through 3932 N Mississippi Ave, Portland, OR, United States

This month we’re reading a new release, Sugar Land by Tammy Lynne Stoner. It’s in the style of a traditional southern book but has lesbians. Woot! It’s been getting a lot of buzz so hopefully it can withstand our critical discussion. We meet the first Tuesday of the month and talk about books with lesbian characters/content/issues. https://anotherreadthrough.indielite.org/book/9781597096270

Lesbian Lit Book Group – March

Another Read Through 3932 N Mississippi Ave, Portland, OR, United States

We have less time between meetings this time because of the short month and the way the days fall, so we’re reading our yearly graphic novel this month. We’ll be reading and talking about the (already much-talked about) Bingo Love by Tee Franklin. It’s been talked up because of its representation of people of color and older women and we’re so here for it! (We meet the first Tuesday of each month to talk about books with lesbian characters/issues/content, and all readers are welcome.)

Lesbian Lit Book Group – April

Another Read Through 3932 N Mississippi Ave, Portland, OR, United States

It’s been a while since we’ve had a flashback month, so we’re looking forward to discussing The Revolution of Little Girls by Blanche McCrary Boyd, which first came out in 1992. McCrary Boyd won a Lambda Award (tied, actually, with Jewelle Gomez’s book The Gilda Stories, that we read last year) for it so hopefully that bodes well.
