Street Roots: I Am

Annual Zine Launch Party Street Roots, Portland’s weekly newspaper that creates income opportunities for people experiencing homelessness and poverty, publishes an annual art and poetry zine highlighting the creative voices of their individual vendors. This year’s zine, I Am, focuses on the realities of being homeless and the beauty of being human. In conjunction with Abigail DeVille’s current exhibition, The American Future, PICA will host a free party celebrating the launch of I Am on Sunday, December 9 from 12:00-4:00 PM, with a live poetry reading by vendors at 2:00 PM, and a display of visual art by vendors throughout the afternoon.
