"Alicia Jo Rabins is a writer, musician, composer, performer and Torah teacher. She creates multi-genre works of experimental beauty which explore the intersection of ancient wisdom texts with everyday life. Rabins’ first collection of poetry, Divinity School, won the 2015 APR/Honickman First Book Prize and was a finalist for the Oregon Book Award. Join us for Filament's February reading, with special guest Sophia Shalmiyev! Sophia Shalmiyev emigrated from Leningrad to NYC in 1990. She is an MFA graduate of Portland State University with a second master's degree in creative arts therapy from the School of Visual Arts. She lives in Portland with her two children. Mother Winter is her first book. We will have a new cast of talented MFA readers in addition to Sophia, and we're delighted to be at the IPRC for our first reading of 2020!
