Join us for a reading with Erika Meitner, Alicia Jo Rabins, Keetje Kuipers, Airea D. Matthews, Tess Taylor, & Rachel Zucker. (Note: this is the first of two separate readings at The Stacks tonight, so we will be prompt & will move the party next door afterwards!) Erika Meitner is the author of five books of poems, including Holy Moly Carry Me (BOA Editions, 2018), Copia (BOA Editions, 2014), and Ideal Cities (HarperCollins, 2010), which was a 2009 National Poetry Series winner. Her poems have appeared in Best American Poetry, The New York Times Magazine, Ploughshares, The New Republic, Virginia Quarterly Review, The Southern Review, Tin House, and elsewhere. Come out to one of Portland's coolest literary spaces, the Independent Publishing Resource Center, and help us make an edition and learn how to sew a simple booklet. Then, in the evening, join us for a celebratory reading by Wave poets. Readers will include: Aaron Kunin, Danielle Dutton, Dorothea Lasky, Joshua Beckman, Magdalena Zurawski, Michael Earl Craig, Prageeta Sharma, Rachel Zucker, Rodney Koeneke, Richard Meier, Tyehimba Jess, Matthew Zapruder, John Beer, Alejandro de Acosta, and Dara Wier. The book-sewing will go from 2–5PM; the reading will go from 5–11PM.

Rachel Zucker is the author of ten books, including, most recently, SoundMachine (Wave Books, 2019). A recipient of fellowships from the National Endowment for the Arts, MacDowell Colony and the Sustainable Arts Foundation, Zucker is an adjunct professor at New York University and the founder and host of the podcast Commonplace: Conversations with Poets (and Other People).
