Chris Kraus is the author of four novels and three books of art and cultural criticism. Her first novel, I Love Dick, was adapted for television. In 2017, she published the first full length biography of Kathy Acker, After Kathy Acker: A Literary Biography. Her work has been widely translated. She is a co-editor of Semiotext(e) and lives in Los Angeles. Sophia Shalmiyev emigrated from Leningrad to America in 1990.
