Time isn’t real, the year 2020 is an exhausting tornado, and on July 11th and 12th, #virtualpzs will be happening on the internet. We are currently in planning stages, but below is a list of some of our programming. We have not yet set a schedule, but all programming will take place between 11am-6pm on July 11th and 12th. Virtual IPRC: Origami

Come and fold with an IPRC member/volunteer & origami instructor/author, Yuki Martin on Zoom! You will need either origami paper*, or regular copy paper cut down to the dimensions of a square. Yuki will show you a few fun, summery models, including a rose and butterfly. All ages & skill levels are welcome. The materials needed would be a few sheets of standard size (6″x6″) origami paper* or copy paper cut into a square. Outlet’s 5×5 DWP Print Show!

Join Outlet for our first annual 5x5 print show! This virtual riso print show will showcase work by local BIPOC artists and will be raising funds for 5 incredible organizations. Buy a beautiful riso print and support 5 great and important causes in the areas of BIPOC representation, equity, community support, youth activism, anti-incarceration, and police- and prison-abolition. This show will run virtually for all of Design Week (August 3-9) via Outlet’s website and until prints sell out. All prints are priced between $10-$50 (higher donations always accepted). From its start, the zine has been an easy & accessible printed form of spreading information and political & personal stories outside of commercial publishing pathways. It continues to be a powerful medium for amplifying and spreading narratives of grassroots movements that might face censorship or misinformation otherwise. Person to page to person (and now shared on virtual bookshelves), zines create an intimate and impactful experience of learning what’s happening on the ground sometimes even in other times and seemingly far away places.
