SILENCED: Prepare a five-minute story about suppression. Interrupted, talked over, censored, shushed. Pleading the Fifth about your sister’s boyfriend, your friend’s new haircut, your mother-in-law’s famous jello salad. Being told to hold your tongue, hush your mouth, or button your lip. OR the time you pushed back, shouted out, and brandished your words as weapons. Regale us with tales of words eaten…or spoken. Teen Library Story Slam

Got a story to tell? Come and join our Teen Library Story Slam hosted by the Hollywood and Belmont Teen Council. Our theme is "New Beginnings," and your story can be fiction or nonfiction. We will share our stories in small groups, and those that want to share to the larger group at the end, will have an opportunity. Stories shouldn't exceed five minutes.
